Ericka had pretty much done the fastest changing in her life. She needed to hurry up and get to the beach so she could have plenty of time to tan. It was official, she was the palest person here. In New York, her skin had been the tannest of her class. But here, she was like a ghost.
After finding the perfect place to lay, she put her towel down and laid down on it. Looking down to make sure the suit stayed on, she noticed how the color of the suit didn't do anything for her skin. Must tan ASAP. she deeply exhaled at that thought. Now where are all of the hot beach boys?

Roxanne was walking out of the apartment as soon as the truck pulled up into the gravel driveway. “Hey guys.” She said slipping on the dark red bikini top before anyone could see anything not meant to be seen. “What are you guys going to do?” She asked as Jake stepped out of the truck. “What are you going to do?” He asked her, she gave him a stupid look before shaking her head, “beach. Duh.” She laughed before tying the ends of the bikini top together. “The water feels pretty good, and I highly doubt there will be any jellyfish out today- so it looks like a good day for a session.” She suggested, as her cousin placed a tool box and a few pieces of wood onto the table next to the shed. “Yeah- I was thinking that too, and so was Pierce- so here we are.” He said before taking his shirt off and flinging it onto the porch. “Alrighty then, I guess I’ll see you guys out there.” She said- grabbing the burberry board from the back of the wrangler and walking out towards the surf. bathing suit;;

Ericka looked up at a sudden sound. She saw the girl she had met earlier with two boys. Hmm. Things are going to get a lot more interesting. She watched Roxanne go towards the water while the others were doing something at the apartments.
After a moment of sitting there, looking, she laid back down on her towel and decided that if anyone wanted to talk to her, they'd come to her. Always the leader, she was never one to chase after people and beg them to be her friend.

Pierce smiled at Roxanne, watching as she walked down into the sea. He followed Jake's lead, flinging off his short to the porch, thankful he had come clad in his bathing suit already. "Jake- I'll meet you down there." He walked towards the sand, quickly surveying the beach.
His eyebrows rose- oh, look, theres a cute one he hasnt seen before. She porbably just moved here, judging from her pale skin. "Roxy," he called. The dog obediantly came. Pierce pointed towards the girl- "Fetch!"
Roxy barked, and ran towards Ericka. Once arrived, Roxy started to dance and jump around the girl, barking playfully. "Roxy!" Pierce took off after the dog, grinning as he kneeled by his dog, grabbing his collar. "Sorry," he apologized, "he only gets this way around pretty girls."
Patting Roxy's head, he looked at the girl- a lot prettier up close. "Hey, I'm Pierce. Are you new?"

What the--? Ericka thought as she sat up to meet a beautiful dog, face-to-face. 'Aww. What a cute little dog.' she said with a soft smile. This is a sweet dog. Kind and friendly. Her owner must be someone sweet as well.
A moment later, Ericka was greeted with a young man. What piercing eyes. And such a beautiful smile. She watched the dog run back to the man, her owner. 'It's-it's okay.' was all she could say, his handsome looks taking her voice and her breath away. Her face was turning red from the sweet compliment.
'Must it be so easy to tell I'm new?' She laughed after taking a moment to recover her voice and put an end to the blushing. 'I'm Ericka.
Ericka sat straight up and motioned for the dog to come closer and allowed enough room on the towel for Pierce if he wished.

Jake, after getting a SODA walked out onto the beach; the sand sifting through his toes. He sighed, checking out the normal surfer chicks, nodding at a few friends who had beers in their hands. They offered him one- but he quickly declined seeing that he had already had his for the afternoon.
If they were there later that night, however, that would be a different story. The night time was reserved for drinking away your worries and partying for fun. He knew that, they knew that, everyone knew that- it was a rule.
Roxanne glanced at the other surfers signaling that it was her time in the line up. The wave she was searching for caught her surfboard up and off she was. It was a usual glider, as she stood- and did not try anything fancy. Today was not ‘fancy day’ it was just time to glide upon the water, clear her head of whatever mess she had in her head. At this moment, she did not have anything to frown upon- but still: a nice glide on the water was healthy for a person.
The wave broke sending her closer to shore, making her paddle a far way out to get back into the line of waiters.
It was getting close to four o’clock, and it was cook-out day at their place. “Rox!! Get your ass back here!” Jake called out to his cousin, who turned and flicked him off. She laughed but knew that it was getting close to the time to cook so she paddled back in.

Pierce smiled charmingly in his player way, discreetly winking to Roxy. Roxy looked content, snuggling himself beside Ericka happily, used to Pierce’s routine now.
“This isn’t exactly the city,” he said with a chuckle, “Everyone pretty much knows everyone. It’d be hard to miss someone like you.”
Roxy licked at the extended hand, whining a bit, wanting some more attention.
Pierce laughed, sitting beside Ericka, “It’s not often I see someone so pale.” He picked up her hand, seemingly studying it for a moment. “Like porcelain,” he almost whispered. Looking back up, he smiled again, softly, like it actually meant something.

“Who’s the chick?” Jake asked Roxanne as she came walking up to him.
“Huh?” She asked turning to face Pierce who was sitting next to the girl she had met at the bookstore. “Oh! Her name is Ericka, she’s new here- and seems to be falling for Pierce’s good looks and charm…” She added in the rest because it did look like Mr. Sparrow had this “in the bag”.
“Good looks and charm? So you think he’s good-looking.” Jake said raising an eyebrow at his cousin.
“Oh shut up- I’m going to cook the steaks. You can go put this up.” She handed him her surf board.
“Sike, you can do that- I’ll go tell Pierce that he can invite his friend over to your place for dinner.” Jake said, handing her the board back, before walking over to the couple.
“Pierce- who’s your new friend?” He asked, nodding at Ericka before turning to Roxy who decided to jump on his foot.
Roxanne laughed before turning to walk back towards her place. She set the board against the porch, and hoisted herself up onto the wooden deck before sliding the back door open. Inside, she grabbed a towel and wrapped it around her waist before grabbing a few steaks and taking them back outside. Setting them onto the wooden picnic table, she flicked the gas-grill on. She then sat in one of the chairs, waiting for the grill to heat up, and observed the beach. Her eyes went from place to place- but rested on the sight of her cousin, the new girl, and Pierce most of the time.

'Oh. It would, would it? What's that supposed to mean?' she cocked her head to the side a bit, smiling. He was actually pretty cute. You could never tell if someone was being genuine or fake, but to Ericka, it seemed like Pierce was being real. It was a nice change.
At his touch, her heart raced and she blushed again. Dammit. Why is this guy making me feel this way?
She glanced down at his hand holding hers, as if trying to see if it was really happening, and back up at his eyes. I could spend hours looking into his eyes. I wonder if- Her thoughts interrupted by a strange voice.
Ericka looked up at where the voice was coming from. Another guy- this time, one that looked more like a potential friend rather than anything more. Hmmm. They seem to know each other. He must be okay.

Pierce looked positively glowing when he turned to Jake, laughing at Roxy. “This’ Ericka.” He introduced. “Ericka, meet Jake- Jake, Ericka. The temperamental one is Roxanne, Jake’s cousin.” He laughed, setting her hand onto the towel.
Roxy’s head lifted into the air, and he started to pant- smelling the meat and the grill. He was a spoiled dog, normally being offered whatever Pierce would bring home or make, the teen having believe dog food was damn well unhealthy for his baby.
“Ooh,” he said happily, “Want to join us for steaks? I think Roxanne’s making some right now.” Ahh. He never did miss the sizzling sound of a grill- free food, sure, why the hell not? “She can come, right Jake?” he said, looking up at his friend.

Ericka smiled at Jake. 'Mhm. Steaks sound pretty good right about now. She stood and grabbed some clothes out of her bag.
After a quick moment to put on some more appropriate clothes for eating, she gathered her things and then waited for Pierce to stand so she could shake the sand off of her towel. The new outfit was tailored to show off her long, lean legs, but not look slutty. And the tank top was tight enough to keep her feminine look. Perfect.

The grill had gotten to the point where it was ‘steak cooking temperature’ and Roxanne stood and tonged the steaks onto the metal wires. She began humming to the song playing from the speakers- a Less than Jake song.
Jake laughed, “Nice to meet you Ericka, and of course she can come. I think the whole crew is coming to the house for steak and stuff.” At the note of stuff, he turned around and yelled across the beach at his cousin, “DO YOU NEED ANYTHING?”
She twisted around to simply yell, “NAH!” before flipping the steaks and closing the lid.
By saying the whole crew, Jake meant everyone on the street. They were in a close knitted ‘community’ of beach lovers and party goers. Once a month, they would have dinner at one of the apartments, which were actually beach houses- but were known as the apartments because of the people that lived in them, and have a good time chilling. A few occasions a drunk fight would burst out- but those were no big deal.

Pierce smiled, standing and calling Roxy over to his side. The dog followed silently, as Pierce offered and arm to Ericka after she shook of the sand from the towel. Delicious! he thought, after taking his time to look over her outfit.
“Eveyone’s coming?” Shit, forgot about that. I’m going to have to skip out early and make it to the race, he thought ruefully- normally the moment anyone left was when something epic would happen. For instance, the burning of Pierce’s third car. No, he would never forgive Alex, even if she was drunk for the first time in her life.
He smiled though anyways, walking towards the apartment again, one or two people arriving early by the grill.

Ericka smiled and took his arm. Polite too. Ahh! She silent screamed. Her bag dangled at her side and she was on cloud nine. Before, she never would've thought that love at first sight existed. But now, it seemed like it did.
Hmm. Who is 'everyone? But at the moment, she didn't care. Nothing mattered.
Arriving at the apartment, she noticed how many people were there and how out of place she felt. If there's too much alcohol, things are going to get interesting. Ericka wasn't really a lightweight, but if she drank too much, she had a tendency of being a bit of a slut.

“Oh hey!” Roxanne said, noticing that Ericka was on Pierce’s arm. How nice; Pierce has another girlfriend… “See- told you we’d run into each other soon.” She said laughing as she placed the first batch of steak on the table. “The kegs need to be brought in, guys, so if you two could do it chuck them from over yonder to here that’d be great.” She said smiling at both her cousin and Pierce.
Jake nodded before hearing voices from behind him. There were a few people: Bobby- the dark brown haired, blue-eyed gym junkie. Jill- the red head whore of the group and CT- another gym junkie, but surfer at heart, who had the curly black hair and dark brown eyes. They carried a cooler which held a handle of Jager Meister, some beer cans, a Bottle of Captain Morgan, and another bottle of Bacardi 151.
“Oye! What’s up guys.” Jake said as they walked up to the porch and sat the cooler to the side.
“nothing much, Goldfish. How ‘bout you?” CT asked. They all gave their little handslaps, except for Jill who dove into a hug with Jake, of course.
